Apartment Updates: Bowood Headboard and Sarah K Designs Bedding

Things are really starting off to decide on up steam in the condominium! I’m always sharing genuine-time updates on Instagram but I desired to article some extra pics of the new headboard below due to the fact I really like it SO significantly. I’m so glad that Jen and I made a decision on working with Bowood for this piece. To say it is been transformed is an understatement. As you could don’t forget, the headboard is the Pondicherry from Serena and Lily, in a grey linen that they made available. I favored it but was hardly ever more than the moon about it, and following a couple of several years it absolutely had a couple of stains and was in need to have of a makeover. I briefly thought of having a unique headboard entirely, or a bed (I actually wanted a brass bed!), but finally we made a decision that reupholstering this was the ideal solution. I’m in fact truly glad we had been equipped to reuse some thing I now experienced – and viewing it in this new fabric has produced me notice how much I truly appreciate the form and traces of it. Like, Really like!

We employed Jen’s upholsterer for this project, and I know I’m a bad blogger due to the fact this would be considerably far more attention-grabbing or enlightening for people today if I experienced like, DIY’ed it! Or much more fascinating if I’d identified it secondhand or what have you. Alas, I am not a DIYer and I am not lucky more than enough (or affected individual sufficient) to obtain a piece like this secondhand! So we applied a experienced and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It is just stunning and significantly makes the space. I’ve generally appreciated Bowood but I have to say, it is even a lot more impactful and attractive in individual. Also required to be aware that I applied Bowood Union, which is the variation which is a combine of cotton, nylon and linen. Common Bowood is 100% cotton and comes in a couple colorways. My colorway is eco-friendly/grey. I selected this simply because there are two neutral colorways of the 100% cotton Bowood – green/gray, or white/leaf (there are also blue and pink variations). The environmentally friendly/grey had a pretty beige floor, and the white/leaf experienced a really white floor. It was hard to come to a decision because I favored the two in distinctive ways – the beige floor experienced a very tea-coloured, antique glance, but the white/leaf was very clean up on the lookout. The good news is there was a great alternative – Bowood Union in environmentally friendly/grey. It has a beige floor which is not AS beige as the other model – so it’s severely the perfect medium among the two. Confusing, possibly! I felt it was significant to do my analysis and see all of the shade and cloth alternatives right before selecting, so I’m glad I did that.

I also wished to share how a great deal I like my Sarah K. Styles bedding! I discovered it through (who else?) Louise Roe, and just had to have it – even however figuring out Uk sizing was a bit of a head-scratcher. I’ve constantly just been entirely enamored with ditsy florals so there was no problem in my intellect that I necessary this duvet and pillow set. It’s so quite and charming. The hues, the print, the ruffles…just fantastic. I have a full dimension mattress and I’m pretty absolutely sure I bought the Uk King size. It matches completely and it’s actually smooth and comfortable. (By the way, I truly have to have to replace the drum shades – I’m contemplating of undertaking a pleated environmentally friendly material!). It is actually bizarre, I utilized to usually come across sleeping less than my cover tremendous uncomfortable and it felt genuinely very hot and much too weighty with a linen quilt protect on it…but ever considering the fact that I switched to this a person, I have no problems and obtain it definitely comfortable. Was it the quilt deal with all this time that was the problem, not the quilt alone?! I honestly in no way suspected! Weird.

I just cannot believe how substantially I love Bowood! It is these a ideal blend of emotion sort of vintage and antique, but also new and energetic. There’s nothing at all fusty or fussy about it. It’s kind of a best fabric and I may possibly go forward and do curtains in it much too, since it is just so superior.

A lot much more updates that I have to have to photograph and share – thanks for pursuing!
